7 Do It Yourself Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Itchy Scalp

  1. Lemon Juice
It is a tested home remedy to get rid of itchy scalp as it also has antiseptic properties. It is particularly good in fighting dandruff. Lemon juice can be applied directly on the scalp before shampooing your hair to fight dandruff. It can be mixed with yogurt and used as a hair pack to fight itchiness and dryness of scalp.

It is helpful in creating a barrier against dryness and acts as a moisturizer for the scalp by keeping it greased. Coconut oil can be warmed before applying on the scalp for better results and then massaged gently for it to be absorbed. Leave it on for atleast 30 mins before you shampoo your hair. For better results it should be done atleast thrice a week before the results start appearing.

It is truly a benison in many ways as it has natural anti-fungal, anti- bacterial and anti- inflammation properties. It can be used in different ways to cure several scalp problems. 3-4 drops of tea tree oil can be mixed in one tablespoon of vegetable oil and applied on your scalp. Within weeks you shall witness the problem of itchiness and dryness wane away. Alternately 10-20 drops of tea tree oil can also be mixed in the baby shampoo and stored. Every time you shampoo your hair you shall witness the problem of your scalp slowly diminish.

The magnesium salts found in sea salts are excellent dealing with inflammation of scalp. The sea salt kernels can be mixed in coconut oil and massaged gently on the scalp and its affected areas. The kernels will gradually dissolve leaving your scalp also exfoliated. It is very effective in curing hair fungal problems. Depending on the intensity of the problem the mixture can be applied from thrice to week to once a week.
  1. Apple Cider Vinegar
It is excellent home remedy to treat dry scalp problem. ¼ apple cider vinegar can be diluted in water and applied on the scalp. Leave it for a while and then wash hair with warm water.
  1. Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel is an excellent moisturizer for the scalp. Either natural aloe vera gel or an organic brand aloe vera gel will be most effective in fighting the problem of an itchy and dry scalp. Gel can be applied 20-25 mins prior to shampooing your hair.
  1. Sesame Seed Oil
It has inherent healing and nourishing properties and most effective against itchy scalp. The oil can be heated and then applied on your scalp gently massaging it. A hot water towel can be tied on your head which will help absorb the oil well. You could leave the oil overnight on your scalp or wash it off using a shampoo after 20 mins.
